Recently moved to less than 1 km from its previous location, newly opened Ngon Restaurant continues to provide a plethora of delicious Vietnamese cuisine from around the country, now in a more beautiful and extensive venue. From the street, visitors step into a beautiful courtyard of palm fronds, potted greens and flowers, dotted with smooth wooden tables and chairs. A couple of steps up, begins a maze of adjoined dining rooms, adorned with large chandeliers and muted draperies that billow in the open air. Straight to the back, lies a shallow pond of clear water and a small stage where traditional Vietnamese music frequently resonates throughout the airy dining rooms. From the main floor, diners can move up one or two more levels where all rooms are painted in soft yellows and creams, and are graced with intricate traditional wooden trimmings. Try the Bun Bo Hue, delicious beef noodle soup Hue style from central Vietnam. Or peruse the barbeque selection with delicacies like the Bo Nuong Muoi Ot: grilled beef with chilli salt served with seasoned toast. A favorite among locals and foreigners alike is the Bun Cha Gio, vermicelli and fried spring rolls served with fresh herbs and fish sauce. And for dessert delight in the Che Chuoi Chung: boiled banana, flour and peanuts in sweet coconut milk.
