The peace and delight of The Lost Restaurant found in District 1 cannot be understood simply from its convenient downtown location. Just inside the heavy glass doors, ascend the stairs and enter a world of cool brick walls, white muted paper lights and big bright windows. The softly padded, dark ornate furniture contrasts well with the colorfully painted walls and greenery seen just outside, bestowing a relaxing and sophisticated atmosphere for lunch, dinner or drink from their list of many. If it’s cocktail hour you are interested in, choose from an assortment of international wines from Australia, South America and Europe.

For diners, true Thai tastes begin with The Lost’s grilled shrimp patties on sugar cane or fried chicken breast wrapped in pandanus leaves. Move on to a long list of mains including: roasted duck curry, savory stir fried baby corn with shrimp and straw mushrooms, or a selection of pad Thai choices. Larger groups can easily share the steaming hot pot ladened with coconut and basil, Thai style. And polish off the meal with a sweet plate of sticky rice, mango and coconut milk, complimented by a soothing aperitif.
